However, the main reason for cutting back on brushing time was cited by many as the morning rush. More and more of us are skimping on the amount of time we spend brushing in order to get out of the house quicker. As we all know we’re meant to spend at least two minutes brushing our teeth in order to do a good job, but it seems that most of us only manage around forty five seconds of brushing. (more…)

Is Cheap Cosmetic Dentistry Overseas Worth the Risk?
There is an increasing trend amongst people seeking cheap plastic surgery to travel abroad. The same is true of people who are looking to save themselves some money on cosmetic dentistry. However, there are obvious hazards and risks that have been discussed thousands of times before, and the utmost of care should be taken if you’re planning a trip abroad for surgery.
However, it is interesting to note that Turkey, one of the world’s hotspots for medical tourism has recently undergone a significant number advanced developments to their health care system as a direct result of increased revenue from the high number of visiting medical tourists. The once dilapidated Turkish health care system is now highly developed and is comparable to that of much richer countries. So medical tourism in Turkey has had yielded benefits for more than just the patients!
Of course, despite this the medical tourist should be wary. Cosmetic surgery and cosmetic dentistry might be significantly cheaper abroad, but it could potentially end up costing you more than you expected.
Ultimately the best view to hold is that you get what you pay for, and extremely cheap procedures carried out overseas are not likely to be as effective, and in many cases as safe, as those carried out in the UK. For example, if you’re planning on trying some teeth whitening procedures you may be better off having them performed in the UK, even though the same treatment may be less than half the price in other countries. The risks are well publicised, and the number of success stories do outweigh the number of horror stories, but it is always best to take the necessary precautions as there is nothing worse than finding yourself in an extremely difficult situation miles away from home.

Is Cosmetic Dentistry the Key to Electoral Success?
The British Dental Health Foundation discovered, in a recent survey, that over 70% of those questioned believe that people with a healthy smile have an increased likelihood of success. This information couldn’t be more relevant with the general election looming, and it’s certainly something that the candidates will have taken into account. Is the secret to electoral success a winning smile?
The importance of a healthy smile was outlined by Doctor Nigel Carter, the Chief Executive of the British Dental Healthy Foundation, who explained that people are more likely to warm to those with a pleasant smile and teeth are often the first thing people notice about each other. So, it seems that the smile of the electoral candidates might have a significant impact on their chances of success.
Of course, this has implications for the rest of us too. It’s in our best interests to keep our teeth healthy and our smiles looking good as a healthy looking smile can significantly influence the way people think about us. For those of use who are not pleased with our smiles then there are plenty of cosmetic dental treatments that can help to significantly improve the appearance of a smile. For example, the smile makeovers offered by many cosmetic dentists are the perfect way to improve your self esteem and confidence if you’re not happy with the appearance of your smile. So many people have had their lives turned around by cosmetic dentistry and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able too either.
