Thumb Sucking Dangers
The first ever thumb-sucking clinic in Britain has warned against the dangers of thumb sucking and outlined the problems which it may cause to dental alignment. It is believed that approximately eighty percent of babies and young children suck their thumb at some point and that it is advised that the habit is put to a stop as early as possible to avoid problems occurring in later years. Children should ideally have stopped sucking their thumb by the age of four and if this is not the case, parents should do their best to encourage the child to find comfort in an alternative.

Dentists Warn Against Tongue Piercings
Orthodontists in the USA are reporting that some people who have worn tongue piercings for a long time are experiencing some dental problems as a result of their piercing. It turns out that the piercings, particularly if the person wearing it likes to push it against their front teeth, are actually able to cause teeth to become misaligned over time. (more…)

Klass-ey Invisible Braces
Television presenter Myleene Klass has recently landed a plum job presenting ITV’s This Morning on Fridays and it seems she celebrated by vowing to straighten her imperfect teeth. The celebrity inadvertently revealed her orthodontic device during a recent segment on the show that involved food tasting. Until that point it was not public knowledge that Myleene was undergoing orthodontic treatment, but she has since confirmed that she had the brace fitted some time ago to bring her teeth into line.
