Brits Opt for ‘London Smile Makeovers’

Britain isn’t exactly know as place where beautiful smiles are common place and Americans often take great pleasure in ridiculing the supposedly bad teeth of British people. In reality the proportion of people in Britain with bad teeth is probably similar to anywhere else in world; however the stereotype of bad teeth seems to stick nevertheless.

There may be hope yet though and maybe the end is drawing near for bad British teeth. It has been reported that the number of Brits opting for Hollywood style ‘smile makeovers’ has increased significantly. However, the slightly cheaper treatments that people are opting for has been dubbed ‘the London Smile makeover’. Instead of utilising expensive veneers to get that perfectly straight and white smile British cosmetic dentists are proving their patients with cheaper treatments.

Braces and other long term corrective techniques are being used to ensure the teeth are aligned properly before teeth whitening treatments are used to improve the colour and metal fillings are swapped for less conspicuous white ones.

At a time when people are being careful about what they spend any cheaper alternatives to standard cosmetic dentistry procedures are welcomed by those who want to alter their smile. Low cost cosmetic dental treatment is really taking off in Britain and many dentists are achieving great results, showing people that they don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune to improve their smile!

If this trend continues then perhaps Britain will be able to shed its reputation as a nation of people who tolerate poor dental hygiene.
