Rap Star has Mouthful of Diamonds

Some of our regular readers in London may remember last month’s blog about dental jewellery, small gemstones fixed to the tooth with a special type of dental glue. Well, international singing sensation Kanye West has taken it one step further…

West has seen it fit to have his entire bottom row of teeth replaced with diamonds.  When asked about his decision to have the precious stones fitted in place of his teeth by American talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres the ever insightful West replied ‘I just thought that diamonds were cooler’.

The move shocked the press and fans many of whom were skeptical of whether or not West had actually permanently replaced his bottom teeth with diamonds. Many people suspected he may be wearing a temporary grille that can be removed at any time. However, after his appearance on the talk show it seems that the diamonds in his mouth are in fact permanent, whether he’s replaced his teeth with them or they are just fitted over his teeth is another question altogether.

Many cosmetic dental experts suspect the later as fitting dental veneers made from or studded with diamonds would be an extremely difficult and in fact almost impossible task.

Nevertheless, by whatever method he got them into his mouth it’s certainly undeniable that West is now blessed, or cursed depending on your view of dental jewellery, with a mouth full of diamonds.
