Teeth not Enough for Vampire Fans

It has been reported that a number of cosmetic dentists in the US have been receiving some extremely unusual requests from their patients of late – if London dentists have, they’re keeping it quiet! It turns out that fans of the movie series Twilight, based on vampires, are making requests for their teeth to be transformed into fangs.

The Twilight movies  are aimed squarely at teenage girls and focus on the romantic misadventures of Bella, played by until now unknown Kristen Stewart and her vamprific would be boyfriend. Needless to say, unless you fall into the fifteen year old girl demographic you probably won’t find much enjoyment to be had in this movie and unless this seems like the sort of thing that interests you we’d strongly advise you don’t let curiosity get the better of you.  However, there’s plenty of amusement to be had from the crazed, teenage fans of the franchise who hope to emulate their on screen heroes with some questionable dental alterations.

So, cosmetic dentists are obliging vampire-mad Twilight fans with the requests for fangs. The fangs are applied as temporary dental veneers that can be removed and refitted very easily. They’re made using a special tooth coloured dental resin that is shaped to resemble fangs. Fans for the romantic vampire movies seem to be extremely satisfied with their false fangs that are reportedly quite convincing. You’d certainly hope so at over $200 a pop. With the latest instalment of the Twlight series having recently been released in the UK don’t be surprised if the trend catches on here and you find yourself running into crowds of be-fanged teenage girls in the street.
